Fast Figure Drawing, Pose #1 The first of a series of 5-minute figure gesture drawings we did in class. Each pose was held for 5 minutes before the model moved to the next 'step' of the pose series, and we had to capture the basic elements of the pose. |

Fast Figure Drawing, Pose #2 The second of a series of 5-minute figure gesture drawings we did in class. (NOTE: While we did do a lot more of these gesture drawings in class, I felt that a lot of them weren't worth posting. We also did a series of 1-minute gesture drawings, and those were extremely frustrating to do at first. It took me a while to loosen up to the point where it didn't feel like I was stripping mental gears trying to do this. =P ) |

25-minute Figure Drawing, Pose #1 After the first three weeks of class, we started doing longer-duration pose sketches. THis was one of the first ones, done with conte on newsprint - each pose was held by the model for 25 minutes. (I don't know how they do it without going mental... (^.^) ) |

25-minute Figure Drawing, Pose #2 Another 25-minute pose. The red smudge is an accidental thumbprint from some red conte we'd been using earlier in the class. :P |

25-minute Figure Drawing, Pose #3 Another 25-minute pose. This picture was acutally done before picture #2...my filing system is a bit messed up. |

25-minute Figure Drawing, Pose #4 Another 25-minute pose. For this class we were working (or trying to, in my case.. =P ) with ink washes on heavy brown paper. I found Ink washes to be tricky stuff to work with. |

2-Hour Final Class The last class of the term was a figure drawing session where the model held the pose for 2 hours (ouch!) while we drew it to the best of our abilities. I was pretty happy with my end results when compared to how I'd looked trying these kinds of drawings at the start of the term. |
